painted jeans

This was my first attempt at using handmade stencils and fabric paint to make something unique! I bought these paints at JC Penny for twenty bucks, and they were nice, and a darker green. But I wanted something a bit softer looking, so I decided to use some bleach to lighten their color. I made the mistake of not moving them around enough when I had them soaking, so they came out a little blotchy. But I decided why not cover up some of the blotches with flowers? Here’s a bit of a how-to on the process.

altered thrifted blouse

I got this top for a dollar, (yes, a dollar), at a thrift store. It was a size 3X, but I just loved the cute print and bright color. I decided to take a stab at altering it to fit, even though my last attempt at altering a shirt went horrible. But this one was a success!

Just a polymer clay rose necklace I made for a friend’s birthday! Next time I will put the findings in differently so the charms hang the way I wanted! But it’s still nice, I think!

accent pocket cut-offs

I wanted to make something more fun than just regular cut-offs, and accent patches are lovely! Here’s a quick how-to! Note: You don’t have to make shorts, you can do this with any pants, or even shirts with pockets! (more…)

diy accent rings

Earrings you don’t like anymore, or can’t find both pieces for, can make adorable new accent rings! (Also snuck a ring I made out of a Scrabble tile. Cute, right?) This DIY couldn’t be any easier, although I did have a bit of a time finding ring blanks at a reasonable price so check out the etsy store link.

reversible floral tote bag

My first successful bag! Okay, kinda cheating because two of these pieces were already bags, but horrible ugly drawstring bags I kept make up in. I adapted  them into a cute, reversible tote! I had a third bag that I used to make the straps, and it came out pretty darn good!
